About
Unique Slow Rise Bakery & Cafe brings “unique” baked goods, food and beverage options and experiences to our friends all over the world starting with our community in Squamish.
Origin Story
At Unique Slow Rise Bakery & Cafe, our story began with drives to Vancouver for flavours we loved and a simple question: why not bring Dim Sum and Asian‑inspired baked goods to where we live? We’re Gabe and Unique — and we took a leap of faith to bring those flavours to Squamish.
Working from a rented kitchen with clear limits sparked our creativity. Starting our journey at farmers market with focaccia, we used what we had to invent a menu of hand‑made baked goods, cozy dim sum and rice bowl plates, paired with Specialty Drinks like Milk Tea and Lemon Tea. Each item is a small creative leap: a practical workaround that became a community favorite.
We embrace a learner’s mindset and are committed to contributing to Squamish — refining our craft, curating experiences, and sharing our culture. Building our new location is the next step in that commitment, a space born of passion, possibility, persistence, and community.
Pull up a chair, try something new, and become part of our story.
